Wuthering Waves primary monetization comes from a gacha system called "Convene." The available banners for this feature of the game are split into a featured banner and a standard banner. In the standard banner, five characters are always available, while the featured banner additionally has one unit that's only available for a limited time. Players can "lose" on the featured banner when they get one of the five standard characters instead of the featured unit. However, after "losing" the 50/50 chance, their next 5-star pull is guaranteed to be the featured 5-star character.
